If people think they are more prevalent in southwestern Arizona. Navajo Mountain (properly called Naat'tsis'aan the local population) is another aspect of the glory that is Northern Arizona. The sandstone formations are exquisite, the heritage of the place as I live. No visit would be complete without seeing the sandstone formation called the Corkscrew in Antelope Canyon.
There is another side of northern Arizona, some have lost – the alpine areas. From Flagstaff, Sedona, and the White Mountains, northArizona has just broken the water and grows thick forests and beautiful. The views of Oak Creek Canyon, for example, rivals any on the side of the mountains near Aspen, Colorado found (although few manage to find it.) Slide Rock State Park, which is part of Oak Creek Canyon, offers a natural water slide of water that will delight young visitors each year. Maybe it's a good thing, relatively few ever have the courage to discover the wonders of this area.
