Brooklyn is a huge borough and there’s plenty of culture for tourists and native NY’rs to enjoy whether they are children or all adults! The book is well organized and up on all the neighborhoods inside Bklyn. And that includes fun and cultural ‘stuff’ unavailable in Manhattan as well as the other boroughs! It’s useful even for the those folks who grew up in Brooklyn! I found this book when I was looking for kosher appetizing stores whose address and phone number were not available otherwise.

I use travel books for research to the destinations I am going. Top 10 Athens is not just a good research tool, but a great travel companion. It is concise, well laid out and uses the limited space wisely. The clear coated maps that fold out are great guides as well as good page markers!
The book has excellent information, photography, historical relevence and numerous lists that cover many topics of interest. The top ten catagories allow you to gain quick insight into what is available especially at the time of year you may be traveling.
I have been to Athens many times, yet find a guide like this more valuable so that I can find new things to see and do.
I have been buying DK Guide books for a few years now and prefer them to others I have bought or read. I already have an Essential Athens guide, but this DK guide ‘Top 10 Athens’ is far superior. This lucky little book will get to travel to Greece this summer : )

As someone who travels a lot, I usually consult travel guides to outline the basics of what my trip should look like and then create my own vacation. This book, though, really gave lots of in-depth information that enhanced my experience. Having never been to Eastern Europe before, I thought the language part would be daunting (especially as a native Spanish-speaker) but the language intro in this book really gave me useful tools to get by. Lots of people speak English anyway, but if I needed to say things like “how much” or “the check please” in Croatian, I could. The suggested tours of Zagreb were fantastic and I feel like I really got to know the city well during my short stayover on the way to the coast. The coast is beautiful!!! Everyone must go and I highly recommend this travel guide!

Our family is going on a trip to Orcas Island and I had been searching the internet sites to find out what was available etc. I have a friend who had spent a couple of summers there several years ago and called him to see what we shouldn’t miss. He gave me a huge list of things they had really enjoyed, but I would still need to reseach more information about them to make decisions and set up for activities that need advanced arrangements. I found the “Moon” site and saw that they had a book. I ordered it used, on Amazon. It has all the stuff my friend recommended and all the info. I needed in advance, extra tips for preparation, prices, advice to get the best deals, etc. We leave a week from today, so I can’t say yet how accurate the info is or how well it worked out for us, but I feel much better prepared now that I’ve read the book.
I’ve used other travel books for previous trips and comparatively found I really liked the organization and ease in using the Moon book.
